Design & Technology
Design and Technology curriculum is delivered in a large well-resourced centre that features an Automotive Mechanics workshop, Engineering workshop, Furniture Woodwork room and a Building Construction centre. The complex also includes a classroom for the delivery of Design and Technology theory.
The workshops mirror industry standards and students have the opportunity to undertake projects of a large and complex nature. These include tandem axle tipping trailers, bearing presses, vehicle restoration, panel beating, wall units and large pieces of furniture, brick laying projects and building of sheds around the College property.
Students undertaking Engineering in both Year 11 and 12 have the opportunity to complete sufficient competencies to be awarded a Certificate II in Engineering MEM 201 05 from the Manufacturing Engineering Training Package MEM 05.
Students studying Automotive Workshop in both Year 11 and 12 will complete sufficient competencies to achieve a Certificate II in Automotive Mechanical AUR 207 05 from the Automotive Industry Training Package AUR 05.
Students studying Building Construction in both Year 11 and 12 will complete sufficient competencies to achieve a Certificate II in General Construction BCG 201 03 from the General Construction Industry Training Package BCG 03.
Students undertaking Furnishing Design in both Year 11 and 12 have the opportunity to complete sufficient competencies to be awarded a Certificate I in Furnishing LMF 10102 from the Light Manufacturing - Furnishing Training Package LMF 02.
